XRC® Attachment Chains are Chiaravalli Group roller chains configured for light conveying and product positioning. Attachments allow crossbars, flights, hooks and dedicated supports to be fitted to the chain, integrating it into the machine’s material handling system. The range includes 90° bent attachments, straight attachments and extended pins.
XRC® Attachment Chains use an XRC® base chain with automated industrial pre-lubrication using Fuchs® oils, pre-tensioning and batch checks on plates and pins. Tight manufacturing tolerances contribute to consistent pitch and regular sprocket engagement. Pre-tensioning reduces initial bedding-in elongation.
90° bent attachments, from the A and K families, provide a mounting surface bent relative to the chain plate. Straight attachments, from the M and M35 families, extend the plate to allow dedicated components to be connected. Extended pins, from the D family, provide connection points through extensions of the chain pins. Selection depends on the geometry of the component being conveyed and the intended mounting arrangement.
The standard XRC® Attachment Chains range with A and K bent attachments covers simplex chain sizes from 06B-1 to 16B-1. The attachments are bent at 90°, and their dimensions reference DIN 8187. Standard supply is in 5-metre rolls; additional sizes are available on request.
The standard XRC® Attachment Chains range with M and M35 straight attachments covers simplex chain sizes from 08B-1 to 12B-1, supplied in 5-metre rolls. M attachment dimensions are specified in the Chiaravalli catalogue, while M35 attachment dimensions reference DIN 8187. The dimensional drawing for the specific variant should be checked during selection.
D extended-pin versions use elongated chain pins to connect dedicated material handling components. The standard configuration is 08B-1 D1-01, with extended pins at every pitch, supplied in 5-metre rolls. Pin dimensions are specified in the Chiaravalli catalogue; additional chain sizes are available on request.
The standard range offers attachments at every pitch or every second pitch, depending on the variant:
Bent attachments: K1-01 and A1-01 at every pitch; K1-02, K2-02, A1-02 and A2-02 at every second pitch.
Straight attachments: M1-01 and M35-01 at every pitch; M1-02, M2-02, M35-02 and M35/2-02 at every second pitch.
Extended pins: D1-01 at every pitch.
Attachment spacing is the distance between attachments along the chain and is distinct from the pitch of the base chain.
Selecting an XRC® Attachment Chain requires defining the chain type and size, attachment geometry, attachment spacing and material. Application assessment should also consider load, speed, support arrangement, environmental conditions and how the conveyed components are mounted. Permissible values must be checked against the technical documentation for the selected configuration.
The dimensional reference depends on the attachment family. In the XRC® range, A/K bent attachments and M35 straight attachments reference DIN 8187. For M straight attachments and D extended pins, dimensions are specified in the Chiaravalli catalogue. The drawing for the specific variant must therefore be checked before confirming interchangeability.
AISI 304 stainless steel and nickel-plated versions of XRC® Attachment Chains are available on request, along with additional sizes beyond the standard range. Standard attachment chains can also be supplied cut to length. Material, configuration and availability should be confirmed when making an enquiry.
Food industry machinery is among the intended application areas, alongside packaging and intralogistics. Selection should consider the environment, cleaning procedures, lubrication and machine requirements. The availability of an AISI 304 stainless steel version does not, by itself, constitute a declaration of suitability for direct food contact.
Documentation is available on the Chiaravalli website under Download → Catalogues → Chain Technical Appendix. For a technical assessment, provide the chain size, attachment code, spacing, material and required length, together with the operating conditions.
