XRC® Attachment Chains for industrial conveying

Chiaravalli Group is expanding its range with XRC® Attachment Chains for light conveying and positioning in machinery. The range combines 90° bent attachments, straight attachments and extended pins with standard XRC® chains, providing mounting interfaces for bars, paddles, hooks and dedicated supports.

For a machine designer or technical buyer, the key question is how the chain connects to the application. Chain size alone does not describe that interface. The attachment geometry, spacing and material also need to be specified so that the configuration can be assessed against the machine requirements.

What attachment chains do
Attachments connect dedicated components to the chain. This allows the chain to support synchronized, continuous conveying as part of the machine, linking power transmission to the movement of products or supports.

The applications identified for the range include packaging, intralogistics and food industry equipment. These categories provide a starting point for selection. The final choice still depends on the layout, operating conditions and requirements of the individual application.

Bent and straight attachment options
Type A and K attachments are bent at 90° and are offered on simplex chains from 06B-1 to 16B-1. Attachment dimensions follow DIN 8187. The listed variants include attachments at every pitch or every second pitch, depending on the configuration.

Type M and M35 straight attachments are offered on simplex chains from 08B-1 to 12B-1. Their dimensional references are different: type M follows the Chiaravalli catalogue, while type M35 follows DIN 8187. Keeping this distinction clear helps when reviewing an existing installation or specifying a new assembly.

Extended pin configurations
XRC® Attachment Chains also include type D extended pins. The D1-01 configuration is presented in size 08B-1, with an extended pin at every pitch. Pin dimensions follow the Chiaravalli catalogue, and other chain sizes are available on request.

Extended pins should be identified explicitly in the enquiry. They are a different mounting configuration from plate attachments and should not be confused with hollow pin chains. A drawing can help show how the dedicated component connects to the chain.

Four details that define the enquiry
To specify XRC® Attachment Chains, start with the chain type and size, attachment type, attachment spacing and material. Together, these details describe the configuration to be checked against the catalogue.

For example, an enquiry might describe an 08B-1 chain with A1 attachments at every second pitch in the standard material, followed by the required length. This is a technical description, not an order code. The actual item reference must be checked in the catalogue or on B2B Next before ordering. An application drawing can clarify orientation and the interface with the mounted components.

Standard supply and options on request
The standard supply format is a 5 m roll. A cut-to-length service is available for standard attachment chains, allowing the required length to be stated as part of the enquiry. AISI 304 stainless steel and nickel-plated versions are available on request, as are chain sizes outside the stated range.

The stock range described in the launch material covers standard attachments at every pitch or every second pitch, according to the listed variants. This does not mean that every combination of size, attachment spacing and material is immediately available. Item-level availability and supply conditions should be checked when placing the order.

The XRC chain platform
The range uses standard XRC® chains. Product information identifies automated industrial prelubrication with Fuchs® oils, pretensioning and batch checks on plates and pins. These processes address friction and initial corrosion, initial elongation during running-in, and consistency of pitch.

For food industry applications, material and lubricant selection must be assessed against the intended use and operating environment. A stainless steel option alone does not establish suitability for every food-related application.

Where to find the range
XRC® Attachment Chains are available on B2B Next from 1 October 2026 in the XRC® chains section. Technical documentation can be found on the Chiaravalli Group website under Download → Catalogues → Chain technical appendix.

Start with the product range, identify the four selection details and share your application with the Chiaravalli team. A clear specification gives the technical discussion a practical starting point and helps identify the configuration to propose.
